Greetings everyone! Today was dedicated to completing the task that we began last Friday, which was to finish all of the tops that we started. Though, there was an issue, because we did not have enough crinkled silk to make any more peplums. So Teresa asked me to cut the leftover fabric from the other tops that I cut out last week, into straight pieces so that we can sew them all together to create new, serged peplums. After I cut the leftovers into large rectangles, Teresa serged them all together, which made one big piece. While she was serging, I was cutting out a small/medium top and a large top, which I didn't get to cut on Friday. Aimee was pressing some fabric and Jenny was in the sewing studio putting together all of the tops that we dyed and that I cut out last week. After Teresa finished serging, she gave me the large piece, so that I can cut out the new peplums, for the tops I just cut. I think that they turned out pretty cool actually. Sometimes mishaps turn into magic, and help you see things in a new light and even push you to try new things. I love how Teresa doesn't sweat the small stuff and goes with the flow. We ended up making a different version of the same butterfly tops that we have been making for months now. Variety is a great thing to provide for a customer, with that said, I think that we had a very successful day. With that note, I will see you all again on Thursday.
